The Road’s My Middle Name (catch the harmonica)

The Road

The schedule

The fatigue

The motels and halls

Blurred smiles of listeners.

Appearance touch ups

The aches and pains

The solace of the drugs.

Seemingly.

Awhirl with crazy “monkey friend”

But rescue did arrive.

Friends

Self loathing

Quiet hours.

Prayer, and God stepped in.

The Mess had fueled the Blues.

Oh yeah, a currency

Showing up

No other way.

Ask Bonnie’s pal,

John Lee Hooker.
